The Budapest University of Applied Sciences (BMF) was founded on 1 January 2000, merging three former institutions: the Bánki Donát College of Mechanical Engineering, the Kandó Kálmán College of Electrical Engineering and the Technical College for Light Industry. Five faculties were formed.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is the largest faculty, both in terms of student and teacher numbers. The Faculty continues decades of traditions in the training of electrical engineers and engineer assistants at Kandó Kálmán College of Electrical Engineering, its legal predecessor.
The Faculty offers courses in a wide range of subjects in electrical engineering, including the engineer-teacher training program.
Classes are held at three sites in Budapest (Józsefváros -8th District, Tavaszmezo u. 15-17., óbuda, Bécsi út 94-96., and Nagyszombat u. 19.) and one in Székesfehérvár (Budai út 45)
